After the abolition of the last days of 36 thousand flights due to volcanic eruption Eyyafyatlayokudl in Iceland, the airline is growing dissatisfaction with the closure of airspace in many countries in Europe.

As the “Deutsche Welle” , heads of airlines “Air Berlin”, “Deutsche Lufthansa”, Netherlands “KLM” and “Austrian Airlines” expressed doubt that a giant cloud of volcanic ash, covering Europe, still represents a danger for air transport.

The representative of the “Lufthansa” Klaus Walther said that his airline on April 17 surpassed 10 large aircraft from Munich to Frankfurt at a height of 8 thousand meters, and they all arrived at their destination without any damage. “KLM” for test purposes even sent a few empty planes on the regular height of 10 to 13 thousand meters. These tests are also passed without any problems.

Due to the closure of airspace airlines are huge losses. The International Air Transport Association IATA, every day of downtime costs them 150 million euros.

However, most European countries, before the prolonged ban on flights to Sunday, April 18. In particular, in Germany and Great Britain extended the ban until 20:00, and in Finland, even up to 18:00 on Monday.
