U.S. Department of State does not confirm details about the meeting on the DPRK nuclear issue
WASHINGTON, March 26 – RIA Novosti, Denis Voroshilov. The U.S. Department of State has not yet been confirmed, the spread of information agencies, on the upcoming Friday meeting of the United States, Japan and South Korea on North Korean nuclear issue.
On Thursday, the agency reported with reference to the State Department, that the ambassadors of the three countries – participants of the six-party talks – will meet in Washington.
I'm not aware of such a meeting. Once again, I specify (schedule of meetings for the North Korean issue), and together, if held, – said the representative of State Department, Gordon Dagvid at the briefing, responding to a question on the agenda and meeting time.
The Six-Party Talks to resolve North Korean nuclear issue, involving Russia, China, United States, Japan, North Korea and South Korea have been launched in Beijing in August 2003. So far, they have led to a stop and the withdrawal of the nuclear facilities in DPRK. However, aggravated in the recent political tensions and distrust of North Korea to the United States, Japan and South Korea to impede dialogue Six and to fulfill its primary objective – to make irreversible ridding the Korean Peninsula of nuclear weapons.
